The Legend of the Lost Queen

One day, the very first king of the jungle – King Alexander Lyon the First fell in love with a fair maiden. He watched her scrub floors every morning and watched her go to sleep every night. Her long flame coloured fur was completely dirty from doing so many horrible chores for King Krong of the West, and even her long elegant tail was all mucky. King Alexander could not bear to see this beautiful young monkey in such a terrible state. So he ordered his guards to find the names of every single servant of King Krong`s, and to have a picture of all of them. When King Alexander found the name of this stunningly gorgeous maiden, he set off to King Krong`s castle. King Alexander offered to give ten thousand million bits to have Alexis Munkee, the beautiful maiden to work for him. King Krong declined to the generous offer, so King Alexander, now desperate to see Alexis, offered to give King Krong half of his land. The greedy King Krong said that he will only let Alexis work for Alexander if Alexander gave Krong three of his maidens along with half of his land to him. Alexander said yes. And so Alexis worked for Alexander instead. However, Alexis didn`t do any servant jobs. Instead, she sat with King Alexander all day, talking and laughing. She was able to wash herself properly so that her flame coloured fur gleamed, her long elegant tail swished around in the most beautiful way, and her eyes sparkled. Not long after, King Alexander married Alexis, and bought back his three servants and half of his land from King Krong. King Alexander and Queen Alexis lived the happiest life ever.

Four centuries later, a different king ruled. He was a descendant of the first (King Alexander the First), and was named after him. King Alexander the Nineteenth lived a happy life with his wife, Queen Alexis the Nineteenth. One happy day, the queen was expecting a baby. The entire kingdom was buzzing with delight, all of the kingdomers gathered around the grand castle. When suddenly, King Alexander the Nineteenth burst through the gates, screaming, ”Queen Alexis Monkee the Nineteenth is gone!” The entire kingdom screamed in despair. There were three hundred search parties sent out from the castle, and all the kingdomers joined the search. The search went on for an entire year until the kingdom lapsed into a, wretched, mournful, crestfallen, and despairing silence. The entire kingdom was miserable for nineteen years. The heartbroken king was growing old and fragile, and he knew he had to continue the line of Lyons, so he picked a pretty maiden have a child with. King Alexander was so grief-stricken that he didn`t even marry the maiden. In fact, he dismissed her as a queen after the child was old enough. The maiden, Nessie, was so angry at this. She threatened the king and said, “I will come back. And when I do, your precious line of royal Lyons will be ruined forever.” The King died shortly after, leaving his son, King Alexander the Twentieth to take over. The kingdom was once more a merry and joyous one.

One day, while King Alexander the Twentieth was relaxing and enjoying the spring sunshine, a visitor entered the castle. Visitors were very, very rare inside the Jungle, so everyone was curious about this man. He entered the castle, and demanded to see King Alexander. The man began to speak.

“One day, when the most wise and noble king rules, a single crystal will reveal the identity of the last generation of the Munkees. The crystal will grow to be a crown, and it will bring glory to the kingdom. Alexis will be found. She must be found.” The man gave the king a small white block of rubber, and told him that it was an eraser. He said that it must be kept safe. King Alexander sensed something special about the eraser, so he took the man`s orders and kept it safe.

On the day of King Alexander`s dying day, he gave the eraser to his son, Alexander the twenty-first. The king told his son to guard the eraser with his life. And he did.
